Commonly, this means that the worksheet isn't accessible to the user that connected Google Sheets to Flow, or that your company provided Google account doesn't have the necessary API permissions to provide 3rd party access to your Google Sheet.
Providing Shopify Flow with permission to see, create and delete
If you receive a 403 error after making a new connection to your Google Sheet, you likely failed to give permission for Shopify Flow to edit your worksheets on this screen when initially setting up the link to Google Sheets for Shopify Flow. It's easy to miss!
Please note:
The checkbox See, edit, create, and delete all your Google Sheets spreadsheets must be checked.
Reconnecting Google Sheets for Shopify Flow
We'd recommend that you reconnect your google account with Shopify Flow, just to make sure that you have selected those permissions.
Open the Shopify Flow app and select the Settings option from it's menu in the left hand pane of your Shopify Admin.
You will see something similar to this:
Click on the 3 dots to the far right of the Google Sheets for Shopify Flow connection.
Click on Disconnect. A small message will appear at the bottom of the screen to inform you that you have disconnected.
A Connect button will appear to the right of the Google Sheets for Shopify Flow connection, click the Connect button.
Select the appropriate Google account to be connected and continue to sign-in.
When you are asked to Select what Shopify Flow can access, make sure that you enable the checkbox to See, edit, create and delete all your Google Sheets spreadsheets, and then hit continue:
Important!
This checkbox is NOT enabled by default, you need to select it.
That's it, you should now have permission to allow Shopify Flow to add rows of data to your Google Sheet.
Company Google Accounts
When a company Google Account (Google Workspace) blocks an external source - such as Shopify Flow - from writing to a Google Sheet, it is usually due to strict API security controls or external sharing restrictions enforced by your IT administrator.
Please contact your IT Administrator to ask if your account or a specific Google sheet can have the permissions needed to allow it to be written to.
If that is not possible, consider creating and connecting a Google Sheet from a non-company controlled Google account.
