Three ways to create a survey

Choose how you'd like to get started... build from scratch, pick a pre-built template, or let our setup assistant recommend the right survey for your store.

Grapevine Surveys gives you three ways to create a new survey, so you can pick the approach that works best for you.

When you first install Grapevine Surveys, you'll be greeted by our setup assistant, a friendly chatbot that asks a few quick questions about your goals and recommends the best survey template for your store. It's the fastest way to get your first survey up and running, however, you will still have the option to create a survey from scratch or from a template on the welcome screen.

If you're already past the welcome screen after installation, you can create new surveys at any time from your Grapevine Surveys dashboard by clicking the Create survey button in the top-right corner. You will then see three options:

Start from scratch

This opens a blank survey editor where you have full control over everything, your question types, the questions themselves, answer options, and how the survey is displayed. It's a great choice if you already know exactly what you want to ask, or if you'd like to experiment with a completely custom survey.

Once you're in the editor, you can add as many questions as you need using any combination of our available question types: single choice, multiple choice, open text, NPS, CSAT, date, and content blocks.

Use a template

If you'd prefer a head start, our template library offers a collection of pre-built surveys designed for common use cases. Each template comes with questions, answer options, and channel visibility settings already configured so you can have a survey ready to go in just a few clicks.

Templates are organised into categories to help you find the right fit:

  • Instant Feedback - collect quick reactions from customers right after a purchase or interaction.

  • Lost Sales - find out why shoppers didn't complete their order.

  • Customer Sentiment - measure loyalty, satisfaction, and how customers feel about your brand.

  • Further Insights - dig deeper into specific areas of your business.

You can preview the questions included in each template before selecting one, and once it's loaded into the editor, you're free to make any changes you like before saving.

Use the setup assistant

Not sure where to start? The setup assistant is a friendly chatbot that asks you a few quick questions about your goals and then recommends the best survey template for your store.

Just answer the prompts, like what your main goal is and what kind of feedback you're looking for, and the assistant will point you to the right template. From there, you can load it into the editor and customise it however you like.
