You can filter and export your Grapevine Surveys responses to a CSV file ready for analysis and inclusion into your monthly marketing report.

Did you know?

If you're looking to access your survey data without the need to log in to the Grapevine Surveys app, why not consider sending your data into Shopify Flow using our Grapevine Surveys Flow Triggers?

You can even push your survey responses into a Google Sheet so that you can slice and dice it into the format you need for your weekly/monthly reporting.

Filtering your survey data

There are two areas within the Grapevine Surveys app where you can filter and download your survey responses:

  • Report view - Request all survey responses for a particular channel and date range

  • Responses view - Request all or specific survey responses with additional filters for date range, specific answers, customer data, channels and more

If you want to filter and export all survey responses for a particular date range and channel, then this can be achieved via the Report view:

If you would like to request an export with more specific filters, then please use the Responses view:

For a more detailed explanation of all the various filters available, please see our article that covers viewing survey responses.

Downloading your survey data

From the Report view of your survey, select the Download button and then select the Full Data option from the dropdown:

From the Responses view of your survey, the Download button can be found towards the top right of the screen:

Once you select to download, you will then automatically be redirected you to the Downloads view where you can see your export history:

Accessing your downloaded survey data

The latest download will appear at the top of your downloads list:

You will see a link to Download CSV on the right hand side for each export that you have requested.

Once clicked, the download will start automatically.

The Full Data CSV export provides all potential data fields captured by Grapevine Surveys. Depending on where the survey was submitted, for example, post-purchase, on-site, or via POS - only the columns relevant to that survey context will include data:

  • Order ID - Shopify's globally-unique order ID - (if OSP survey or included in survey URL)

  • Order Name - Your store's unique order id - (if OSP survey or included in survey URL)

  • Order Total - the final amount paid by the customer

  • Order Sub-total - price of items after discounts but before shipping/tax

  • Total Tax - calculated on items and/or shipping based on location

  • Total Discounts - the total amount of any discounts allocated to the order

  • Customer ID - Shopify customer ID (if OSP survey or included in survey URL)

  • Answer / Score / Response - the response or value selected for each survey question

  • First Name - Respondents first name (if required or provided)

  • Email - the email address of the respondent (if required or provided)

  • POS staff member ID - The unique POS ID of the staff member associated with the sale

  • POS staff member name - The name of the staff member associated with the sale

  • Embedded page URL - If the survey was embedded into a web page, the URL of that page will be captured

Older survey questions

If you have been using Grapevine Surveys for a while, then you may still be displaying one of our older single-question format surveys.

If this is the case then you might also see a Summary Data option available from the Download tab.

The Summary download for those surveys that asked a single Fixed Response or NPS question will only include the columns listed below:

  • Answer / Cohort

  • Order Total

  • Order Sub-total

  • Responses

  • Percentage
