Please note:

As of February 28, 2025, the Grapevine Surveys POS link that automatically appears on the Order Summary page was removed from the POS app.

It is therefore important that Merchants add the Grapevine Surveys app to their POS Channel settings manually using our POS UI Extension. Details of how to do this are contained within the article below.

POS UI Extensions are a way to use apps to enhance and personalize the retail experience for both your customers and your Sales Assistants when processing a checkout using the Shopify POS channel.

Grapevine Surveys is available as a POS UI extension so that it can be added to your POS channel via the Shopify Admin.

Why would I need a Grapevine Survey on Shopify POS?

If you sell in person using the Shopify POS app you can present a post-purchase survey to your customers via the Shopify POS app. Asking your customers a survey in person is a great way to increase your survey response rate and is a great way to get to know more about the customer in front of you.

Which Grapevine Survey do I use with Shopify POS?

Enabling a Grapevine Survey for your Shopify POS checkout is very simple.

Within the Grapevine Surveys app, you first need to ensure that at least one of your surveys is set to be visible on your POS channel within the Manage Visibility section of the survey editor.

If you have multiple Shopify POS locations, you can choose to display your survey at All locations, or only at specific locations. This feature allows you to show a unique survey at each different location if that's something you'd like to do.

To adjust the visibility of a survey at any time, select the survey you wish to display go into Edit mode.

Enable the POS location/s that you would like the survey to be visible on and then click on the Save Survey button.

With POS visibility enabled, a badge for each POS Location selected will appear next to the name of your survey within the survey listing view and within the individual survey report view:

How to add Grapevine Surveys to Shopify POS?

Once you've assigned a survey to some or all of your POS locations, you will then need to add Grapevine Surveys to your Shopify POS system.

Within Shopify Admin, open the Point of Sale sales channel from the left-hand menu and select Settings:

Select POS apps from the General section of the Settings page:

You will then be presented with a list of all apps available as a POS UI Extension:

Select the Grapevine Survey option.

Now select the Add button:

You will see that the app has now been Added:

That's it. The Grapevine survey POS UI Extension has now been activated.

Please note:

This is a post-purchase POS UI Extension. This means that it will not work when added to the Smart Grid. It can only be used on the post-purchase page after a successful checkout or on the order details page when looking at a previous order within the POS app.

How do I test if this is working?

How do I add an on-site survey to POS?

If you would like to collect survey responses that are unrelated to an order or where responses are not tied in to a particular customer, then please see our guide Link your on-site survey to Shopify POS tiles for quick one-tap access

Multiple on-site surveys can be added to your Shopify Smart Grid and are an excellent choice for fast access to POS surveys.
