Displaying more than one survey on your post-purchase pages

Written by Steve Jones

Please note:
This feature is only applicable to online store post-purchase pages!

How does it work?

You can display multiple surveys on your post-purchase pages by publishing more than one survey to the Checkout app block channel, each with different Display Rules.

For example:

Survey A - published with no Display Rules (shown to all customers as a fallback)

Survey B - published with a Display Rule targeting Returning customers

Survey C - published with a Display Rule targeting orders containing a specific product

Which surveys actually appear on the page depends on your Checkout Display Settings, which you can configure in the Grapevine app's Settings page.

Setting up multiple surveys

  1. Open each survey in the survey editor.

  2. In the Manage Visibility panel, enable the Checkout app block checkbox.

  3. Click Choose who sees this survey to add conditions for that survey (or leave it with no rules to show it to all customers).

Don't forget to save each survey and make sure you have added your survey to the Thank You and Order Status pages within the checkout editor.

Here is how a stacked survey would appear on the Thank You page:

Checkout Display Settings

When multiple surveys are published to the checkout app block, each with their own Display Rules, the Checkout Display Settings control how Grapevine decides which survey to show. You'll find these settings on the Settings page within the Grapevine app.

Why would I want to do this?

There are several reasons you might want to display more than one survey:

  • General + targeted surveys - Ask all customers "How did you hear about us?" while also asking returning customers a satisfaction or loyalty question.

  • Product-specific feedback - Show a feedback survey only when a particular product line is in the cart, alongside your general attribution survey.

  • High-value order insights - Show an additional survey to customers whose order exceeds a certain value, asking about their purchasing decision.

  • Seasonal campaigns - Temporarily publish a campaign-specific survey alongside your evergreen survey.

By combining Display Rules with the Checkout Display Settings, you have full control over which surveys appear and in what order.

The example below shows 3 surveys that have been enabled for new customers, returning customers and all customers:
